I am officially addicted to electronic fishing.

Can't wait to go again after I knock off! Woots!!!! ^^

Ever since I started working 2 months ago, reality seemed to have hit me hard. I used to drag my days, and everyday was just a matter of going to lectures/tutorials, the perks of the years are during the holidays. I begin to understand what other people meant when they said: "The best days of your life is when you are in school."

My life now is measured in monetary terms. Everything boils down to bills, expenditures, income, instalments etc. It is a tedious and boring process. It would have been more worthwhile if I had a target to work towards. I have no cars to maintain, I have no flat to work towards. Don't get me wrong. I never blamed my family for the situation I am in. I am thankful for the very fact that I exist. As the saying goes, "Everyone is equal. But some are more equal than others." I do not bear a grudge against my parents for not being rich. I have learnt from my bestfriend Sophia, that what matters is that my family is contented. If I can provide for them, I would be more than happy to do it. I will work hard and give back to my family, so that they can have an easier life, so that they can finally break free from the poverty cycle.

What depresses me is that the target of my life is missing. At the age of 22, I do not know where my life is leading me. I thought I knew, but apparently I am mistaken. Even though my brother and sister are married before they were financially stable, I envy them. They have a target to work towards. All around me, people are planning to settle down; Kym&WY, XF&Eric, Ken&Gf, Wx&Kat. How I long for a sense of belonging. How I wish I could have a savings account with somebody, to work towards a better future together.

Maybe I shouldn't think of the future now. All I want now is for Dad to be here with us. In the blink of an eye, my parents are hitting 50 soon. I want to bring them for a holiday to HongKong. I want to do my part as a daughter, to be someone they can depend on. Other than this, nothing else is important.





Why should I give up, when the difficult moments of life are the moments that make living worthwhile.

p/s: if not for cafe world and baking life, I might just delete my fb account altogether, because status updates are irritating and annoying. They serve no pragmatic or entertainment purpose to me. cept the games of course.

I would like to point out that we (or rather I as an meat eater) do not eat the entire body of the animal. I do not eat the intestines of the chicken nor do I eat it's brain, heart and so on. Crap...what about shrimp and so on...I'm talking bull here.
I hate also hate this outrageous delicacy because it the damn thing has no chance at all to live. Hmm...but I do approve of abortions...okay then, I don't hate it...lmao self pwnage.

Wtf seriously? These people are munching on hamburgers/hotdogs/steaks while watching YouTube and condemning people who eat animals a different way. It doesn't matter how you eat it, which part you eat, as long as you eat meat, you have absolutely NO RIGHT TO CRITICISE. So they think eating KFC or Mac is harmless. Watch this:



Just because the beef has been processed, the blood, intestines and every other nitty gritty part have been removed for your convenience does not make it any less cruel. Who decided that eating chicken thigh is less cruel than eating chicken kidney? Oh yeah, maybe the chicken could grow another wing or thigh and still continue to live because you have been benevolent enough to eat the meat rather than the heart/kidney. What a load of crap.








And going on to vegetarians. I have no problems with vegetarians who chose their diet because of health concerns and consciousness. The problem lies with vegetarians who think that they are SAINTS because they do not eat animals, and thus do not contribute to animal cruelty.


Who can be extremely sure that plants feel no pain when being uprooted? Plants do not bleed, we do not hear them screaming when being chopped or cut, SO WHAT? Aren't plants living things as well? If they are really so concerned about respect for all living things blah blah blah, how about go kill themselves so that potential resources used to keep them alive can be used to keep other living things alive?


We are all in the game of the survival of the fittest, just face it.

Sorry to the loyal people who have been checking my blog for updates! Have been really busy these few days. Work was busy, so no time to blog or msn :( Just a brief summary of these few days, in case you thought I died or my blog closed down.

I AM OFFICIALLY EMPLOYED!!!!!!!!!!! starting work on the 12th July, at People's Association, as Assistant Constituency Manager (yes I cannot stop flaunting the seemingly important job title muahaha). Pay is good! Will be posted to Bukit Panjang CC. Only bad thing is the working hours, Sat and Sun have to work :( bye bye dota and World Cup Final T_T

My commencement is on 13th July, morning 9am!! Please do come along to see me throw the stupid square hat! After 15yrs of academic imprisonment, I'm finally free! Just collected my gown yesterday (thanks to bro send me there). Kinda nostalgic when I returned to school, can literally feel the memories flooding me, of lectures with Huiyi and Huiting, lunch with Sophia and Janvin. Oh well. bye bye NUS! <3

Brazil is strong in the World Cup!!! wahahaha. I know this has no direct impact on my life, but I'm feeling good! I'm sad that England lost, but still, Keith helping me support Brazil now!

I had a semi-ghostly encounter at work last week. My office's toilet is isolated and creepy, with the mirrors having peeling black patches all over. If not for the fact that I'm too humji to take photos, I would have uploaded pictures to show you all exactly how scary the toilet is.


During lunch that day, I began to think about my experience. Our definitions of ghosts follow scientific discovery. If we have an encounter that could be explained scientifically, we wouldn't think that it was ghostly. For example, my toilet experience. If the toilet I used was those high-tech type which automatically flushes after every 30mins, you would think I'm stupid to be scared by auto-flushing toilets. Even if the flushing was caused by ghosts, we still wouldn't be inclined to believe that way because in our minds the flushing had been explained by scientific reasons. So I started thinking along that line. Maybe ghosts aren't scary; maybe ghosts are just another phase of existence, just that it is not explained scientifically yet. In the future, maybe a type of spectacles could be invented such that the "ghosts" are visible to our eyes. Like bacteria, just because we cannot see them with naked eyes does not mean that they are not there.

Dilbert has got to be the best comic on office politics. Ever. hahahaha.

Was sitting down in front of the computer today, and started to think about some old friends I had. Friendships, though precious and important, get eroded by time easily. I remember my best friend gang cenpen, back in secondary school. Now, 5yrs later, I don't even know what are they doing now(school or working?) or even which part of the globe are they now(where are you kong?). Its nostalgic to think of the past, to think we did everything for each other everyday. But now, we cant even meet up once a year. Its nobody's fault, can only blame time. I still think of them sometimes, hoping that we could get together and talk about old times.

Talking about forgotten friendships, I had this friend since primary school. Unfortunately, we fell out due to a totally childish blog incident. He didnt know this, but I had kept this email all these time(not lazy clear inbox, is purposely keep ok)

Whenever I see this email now, I feel kinda sad that things had to turn out this way. There was also a recent dota incident, which he said something hurtful. He probably didn't sense it, but it made me feel unimportant and useless. No elaboration on what happened, just felt that perhaps our friendship really cannot put up with the test of time.

On another note, I had this other friend since secondary school. Its amazing how we got to know each other through an online game, and end up being friends for many years later. However, recently, some bad incident over msn happened again, and the ending is much predictable. If you cherish a friendship, you should be sensitive to topics and tone.

I'm so sick of one word conversations, if you don't wanna talk, you could simply not reply. After purposely chatting in a bad attitude, don't pretend that you care about this friendship, act like your style had been like this all along. It could have been my selfishness that made you miserable. If you are reading this now, I want to tell you that you had been a special friend to me. I'm sorry that you didnt feel it, that you treated our friendship like trash.

Fortunately, I still have my bestest friend sophia. Even though she is not in Singapore now, our friendship is strong enough as proven these few years. You don't need alot of friends, you just need ONE who understands you inside out, whom you can call to talk when you are down.

Of course, I still have my fantastic family, who had been there with me through my bad experiences(will post one on my bad interview soon). I am lucky to be in this world with my bestest friend, my family, my baobei. Don't wait till its too late, before starting to salvage friendships/relationships. Some broken things cannot be mended.

Prompted by Barbieboo's post, I hence attempt to unravel the mystery behind why people love to play dota. Dota itself is a very complicated game, with over 100 heroes and over 100 different items and recipes. Each game, technically, is different because 10 players choose 10 different heroes, and also the items build. The fun lies in whether you are able to play as a team, to outwit the other team using different item build and engaging styles. I would say it is a game of wit, though I understand that when other people look at dota, they would say:

"A bunch of ants(creeps) fighting one another, then the sound so loud, so irritating" (Ah mei)

"A group of useless demons fight lai fight qu" (Barbie)

Take it like audition, guys cannot understand why we can play one song after another, pressing arrows keys, spending cash to buy the clothes when its just a virtual character. Different ppl have different interests, I can only say, to understand why guys like dota fully, you have only one solution. To play the game to its essentials, really play it like the guys, then you would understand why they can play it everyday, everytime, every free time they have. :D

Can't believe I just spent 1h trying to put a gadget on my blog. And failed spectacularly. HOW TO PUT A PHOTO GADGET WHERE I CAN UPLOAD FROM MY PHONE DIRECTLY WITHOUT ADDING A NEW POST?! Someone save me and my time please.

Today has been a pleasant day, I feel like a normal person with a normal job(except that mine is a temp job and might get dismissed any day without notice). All humans need work, to have a sense of worth and purpose in this world. Had dinner with bro and baobei at 300+(if my stupid gadget was working, I would have uploaded the delicious pictures).

So long never visit my papa, maybe next week should go. Thats all for now. Time to shower and dota, sleep and end my peaceful day.
